We just wrapped up the second meetup of the Diversability Circus project, and it was an incredible few days of learning, sharing, and lots of laughs! This Erasmus KA220 project is all about making circus activities accessible and fun for young people with intellectual disabilities. Five amazing partners came together to host, each organizing a day packed with circus fun and skill-building.
Throughout the meeting, we dove into a mix of exciting circus activities: group acrobatics, functional juggling, classic juggling, balancing, and even balancing on objects! The sessions were designed to be accessible, interactive, and, most importantly, fun. Participants included circus teachers, four young people with intellectual disabilities (some with Down syndrome, others with autism), and four dedicated companions who joined in to support and enjoy the fun too. Altogether, we had a lively crew of 17 people!
The energy was fantastic, with everyone—from beginners to pros—exploring their unique talents and learning from each other. We laughed, cheered each other on, and left inspired by what’s possible when circus arts are tailored to be inclusive.
The Diversability Circus project is all about this kind of experience: bringing people together to discover new skills, build confidence, and simply enjoy being part of a supportive and creative community.
We’re already looking forward to our next gathering in Hungary and can’t wait to see what’s in store!
